macbook pro wifi disconnects when in the same room as router

I have a weird and ridiculously frustrating problem.

My mac connects and works perfectly in every room of the house except the room the router is in (my lounge)

If I wake up my mac in the lounge it does not connect, the network is shown but even when the correct password is entered it says I am using the incorrect one. Same happens if my mac is open and I go into the lounge.

Stupidly irritating problem please help!!

Hi laser123,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

We understand that your Mac is connecting to Wi-Fi in every room of your house, except for the room where the router is located. This does sound like a frustrating issue, but we’re here to help.

To begin troubleshooting, we’d like you to run Wireless Diagnostics in your lounge. This will help find solutions for potential issues in that room.

The next article we suggest you read over documents the recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers. This information may be useful in troubleshooting your network as well.
